MUSIC

"When you play music you discover a part of yourself that you never knew existed." - Bill Evans

I have been playing the piano since I was 4 years old. I can remember the days when my feet barely reached past the edge of the stool never mind down to the pedals. To be honest, I didn't really enjoy piano lessons at the time. In fact, I was my teacher's worst student! It was more a chore for me than anything else. When my mother asked me to practice, I would politely decline and then place myself in front of the television and watch Digimon. Oh she tried to get me on the piano, she tried hard as did my father. I just didn't want to play. I stubbornly refused. But 14 years later I started to feel the itch; that uncomfortable, frightening itch underneath my skin, compelling me to touch the ivory keys, to feel the ebony sharps. A raw, sensuous magnetism grew between myself and the piano and now I can't stay away. I can't fight it. I'm warmly ensconced in its arms.
